Our Mission

SAFbaby.com is the “baby” of two mothers. Sandra Blum and Samantha Fox Olson are infused with big dreams, a great vision and are strongly passionate about this work. They intend to offer to parents what they could not personally find themselves: An eye opening and encouraging blog about raising children in a toxic-free environment.

About the Founders

Sandra Blum

Sandra’s ‘Green’ interests were sparked at a very early age, when she dreamed of becoming a Greenpeace Activist. At 25, Sandra left her life, family and well paid job in corporate Switzerland behind to move to America. Los Angeles became her new home and business coach!

During her first pregnancy, Sandra became incredibly frustrated with the lack of detailed information about true safe & non-toxic alternatives for children and started drafting ideas about putting together an eye opening and informative Blog for eco-conscious parents. In 2007, she found the perfect person to team up with when she met Samantha Fox. They instantly shared similar interests and both were passionate moms with a big mission: Finding and sharing the Safest Alternatives for little ones! SafBaby.com was born and MACT Awards followed, awarding only the safest high quality products on the market targeted for kids.

Sandra’s latest endeavor: Helping small manufacturers of innovative, high quality and non-toxic/green products based in Western Europe enter the US market and vise versa. Sandra’s fluency in German, French and English facilitates communications between manufacturers, distributors, resellers and retailers from Europe and the US.

Besides dealing with her son’s terrible 2′s and her daughter’s obsession with cats, she’s trying to sneak in some other passions of hers that include watching documentaries, taking pictures, vegan cooking, reading ‘How to’ books and discovering the world with her husband and 2 kids.

Samantha Fox Olson

Samantha lives on the beautiful island of Kauai. Along with being a mother and co-founder of SAFbaby.com and MACTawards.com, she is also a Certified Anusara Yoga Instructor. She teaches weekly fitness and yoga classes to both children and adults, as well as prenatal yoga classes. She leads yearly yoga adventure retreats on Kauai. In 2006, Samantha received a Diploma in Ayurveda Sciences from the Aloha Ayurveda Academy. She loves chocolate, the outdoors, doing scarf dancing and acro yoga with her 5 year old, and is motivated by having fun and helping others.
