“I’m writing about the challenge of finding safe toys for Christmas. Have you found it’s any easier to find safe toys, now that Congress passed the CPSC law? It doesn’t take effect until February, so I’m wondering if parents can shop with confidence, or if they still have to be careful, checking out each individual toy?”

Toys won’t be safer this Christmas than they were last Christmas, SafBaby believes. This new regulation (starting Feb. 10, 2009) doesn’t mean all toys, as midnight strikes, will suddenly be safe either. They will eventually be safer, but it is very important and wise to know what to look for in finding safer alternatives that are still playfully fun and appealing to our children. Lead in Christmas Lights

51evzmj3×5l_aa280_.jpgThe feeling of Christmas probably just wouldn’t be the same with out all the decorative lights. I mean they are everywhere, inside and out.

Here at our place we haven’t really decorated for the holidays. We will be traveling, so we haven’t really desired to put up the lights, the tinsels, or the wreaths this year. But that doesn’t mean that we will still not be around all of the festive decorations, Granny will have it all decked out.

So whether your place is decked out or not, it is almost certain that at this time of year there will be the potential for some type of exposure to Christmas lights.

The Safest Christmas Tree!

51mdkcbqtzl_aa280_.jpgI remember last Christmas. My baby girl was way more into the wrapping paper and the boxes than she was any of her gifts. And I had a blast sticking bows on her head, and giving her a gypsy-like headband of ribbon. Oh, did we get some great photos of that ‘first Christmas’.

Last year was actually the first Christmas that I have ever had a real Christmas tree. It smelled so wonderful! Growing up, my family always had the big, artificial tree that my dad would haul up from the basement every December. Read the rest of this entry »
