It is absolutely essential your baby or child is kept safe in the sun, and Sharksuit makes it easy and fun.

Depending on where you live, shopping for sun protective clothing NOW may seem a little late in the season. But, if you time it right, you can actually save serious money on spf clothing that will, FOR SURE, be useful next summer. And the timing is NOW!

The investment of buying ahead isn’t the only saving! I’ve saved so much money on sunblock since we’ve gotten our fun Sharksuits too. And I know you can relate, applying clothing to a toddler is MUCH EASIER than applying sunscreen!!! Read the rest of this entry »

kaili_sunhat1.jpgWe went to visit grandpa last weekend and he was amazed when his grand baby pointed to his bald head, and then up onto the wall where his hat was hanging, to tell him to put on his hat.

My baby girl really has a knack for that actually. At 21 months she makes sure we all have our hats on before we go outside. It’s a good thing too, since it is already hot and sunny here in Southern California.

“If you can catch them when they are young, you can greatly reduce the sun damage that happens over time,” says Marta Phillips from Sun Grubbies. Read the rest of this entry »

Your Baby’s Sunscreen May Be Giving You a False Sense of Security

August 27th, 2007 safbaby Posted in Skin Care, Sun Protection 1 Comment »

baby_sunscreen1.jpgIn another life, before I was a mom, I was a zipline guide in Kauai. This is when I started to learn that sunscreens can give you cancer! Now I am a mother, and I’m crazy over my baby girl’s beautiful skin. Daddy has already had to have pre-cancerous cells frozen off of his face. So between the combo of wanting my baby to always have beautiful skin, and her daddy to have healthy skin, I’ve looked into sunscreens deeper. Read the rest of this entry »
