Imagination Thrives Inside This Fire-Retardant-Free & PVC-Free Play Tent
SafBaby searched for quite some time before we found a play tent free of fire retardant and PVC for our kids. We literally asked numerous manufacturers if their tent had fire retardants on them. The crazy thing was, they would be smiling from ear to ear as they answered our question with a “yes.”
That was until we spoke with HABA®! One rep’s reply was something like that they would rather NOT treat a child’s play space with unnecessary and potentially harmful chemicals! Yeah! This is what we like to hear.
We have also been guaranteed by the manufacturers that this is a non-treated tent!
So, we inquired a little more and loved what we experienced so much with this amazing play tent that we had to share!
The Detail of this Imaginative Play Space
We always love and appreciate a product that comes out of the box without having any smell to it! May seem like a funny comment at first, but if you have a new play tent at home, give it a smell and see what you think. This one is great, surely chemical free!
Durable and built to last! Usually my husband puts stuff together but I decided to take on this project and build the tent myself. It was so easy to snap the metal bars together (great instructions) and simply slide the rest of the tent over the bars. Within about 30 minutes I was done and the masterpiece was complete!
Great for boys and girls! The colors here can go both ways, and the design could be for a fairy or a prince.
Absolutely adorable detail and design! My daughter has been so creative playing in her tent! The little round windows are perfect for her to peak out of, and the flag and leaves gives it such a colorful theme.
Additionally, the quality of the tent’s fabric is wonderful! Nothing flimsy about this creative space!
Imagination Thrives Inside
Our daughter likes to pretend she owns a store or coffee shop and uses the window to serve up yum yums. She loves to invite her friends over into her own little home!
“Tea anyone?”

My husband joins in the fun by expanding the imagination with puppets. He brings puppets to buy her treats, and she could play for hours serving her tiny guests!

Very nice, but isn’t the window made of PVC?
No, the tent and tent windows are PVC-Free, guaranteed!
The photo on Moolka’s site looks like a pvc window. But the window is actually made of a mesh fabric. Maybe that is an old photo on her site, don’t know. But, the window that you think is of PVC is a nice mesh material.
This tent is so awesome and my girl loves it!
Hi,you posted this in 2008..i just tried to look up that company and was not able to. It is 2010 now, almost 2011..i found this tent from Haba as well http://www.blueberryforest.com/great_playhouses/mushroom-play-structure.htm..so i was wondering what your opinion was,if it is also PVC free, not fire resisitant and also if you have found more PVC free kid play tents since 2008.
I would REALLY appreacite your feedback.
Thank you!!
Eva.
Dear Eva
Thank you for your comment post. I contacted the company who’s manufacturing the Mushroom play structure (it’s made by Bazoongi not Haba), so i’ll let you know if it is free of PVC and/or fire retardants. Haba tents are free of PVC and fire retardants, so you may want to check Maukilo.com for Haba Playtents (see http://www.maukilo.com/childrens-room/swings-tents.html).
Best,
Sandra
Dear Eva,
Just received a reply from Bazoongi regarding their play tents, they’re treated with fire retardants.
Here is their reply:
Sandra,
Thank you for your recent inquiry. All of our play tents are made out of a non-woven fabric. They are treated with a flame retardant to meet current industry standards. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards,
Chris Black
