I contacted the company who's manufacturing the Mushroom play structure (it's made by Bazoongi not Haba), so i'll let you know if it is free of PVC and/or fire retardants. But the window is actually made of a mesh fabric. Maybe that is an old photo on her site, don't know. But, the window that you think is of PVC is a nice mesh material.
