Lead In Face Paints For Kids This Halloween Is Scary!
Every kid loves face paint! But when we read that 10 out of 10 of the face paints that Environmental Working Group tested for lead were positive, we were spooked!
That’s not the only scary facts we found out! Additionally, 6 out of 10 of the face paints targeted to Halloween face decorating contained excessive (beyond safe) amounts of dangerous heavy metals such as nickel, cobalt and/or chromium. These are know skin allergens, and are being marketed many times as “hypoallergenic” and “FDA compliant!”
So what is a parent to do? Ruin a perfectly fun experience for our kids during this extravaganza of dress-up called Halloween? NO! Stay festive and SAFE by following Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) recommendations of what you can do!
