Product Review: Family Play Shade Tent

This summer we are going to be living a block from the beach! Yahoo! What more could you ask for? A PERFECT SUN TENT!

So in our quest for the perfect sun tent, this is what we were looking for (and found), in the Family Play Shade by the Pop Up Co. available at Sungrubbies.com

1. Easy to carry down to the beach. This shade comes in a great, round, lightweight bag that you can easily throw over your shoulder. It weighs less than 5 pounds!
2. Big enough that I can comfortably be underneath the sun tent with my baby girl. The dimensions are 120 cm x 220cm x 125cm.
3. Easy to put up and down. You can literally open this tent in a matter of seconds and it is so easy! To break this tent down, simply flatten, fold and twist. With in one minute you can have this tent set up, and taken down.
4. Open ventilation so that air can breeze through and keep us comfortable. This family playshade sun tent has a spacious open door and a back door that opens and closes with a long zipper. On hot days, just unzip and enjoy the refreshing breeze as it blows through your shady spf tent!
5. An effective and trusted spf factor. This tent has been tested, and the material provides 50 plus UPF. (Ultra Violet Protection Factor) The total radiation penetration is measured by a radiometer. If a garment has a UPF factor of 50 attached to it, this means that just 1/50th of the sun’s radiation will reach the skin.

There are 2 things that contribute greatly to the potential of skin cancer:

1. Sun damage that happens OVER TIME, and
2. The DOSE of that sun (strength of the rays).
