Watch This And You’ll Never Shop The Same!
We just had to share “The Story of Stuff” by Annie Leonard with you! EVERYBODY should see this! Especially as a parent, we consume more than anybody else. Disposable diapers, wipes, toys…. all this creates tons of waste.
Watching “The Story of Stuff” made us think. Do we really need all that stuff? Where does all of this stuff come from? And it will bring up many more questions for you, answered in a way that will astonish you!
Some Facts from “The Story of Stuff”
- In everybody consumed at U.S. rates, we would need 3 to 5 planets.
- There are over 100,000 synthetic chemicals in commerce today.
- Only a handful of synthetic chemicals have even been tested for human health impacts and NONE have been tested for synergistic health impacts.
- In the U.S., we spend 3-4 times as many hours shopping as our counterparts in Europe do.
- In the United States, we have less than 4% of our original forests left.
- In the past three decades, one-third of the planet’s natural resources base have been consumed.

After watching Annie Leonard’s short film, we know you are encouraged to consume less and think more. But what to do with all that stuff that you have now which you will eventually have no need/desire for? Don’t throw it away, recycle it by selling it on Craigslist.com, Ebay, children’s resale shops, or donate to charity or a family in need.
